Our community sports hub / Enhanced Accessibility and Inclusivity
Universal accessibility is a core design principle, ensuring that the sports hall is usable and enjoyable for people with specific needs. All areas, including entrances, changing rooms, and utility spaces, are designed to meet accessibility standards.
The design promotes inclusivity and community engagement through dedicated access points and flexible scheduling options, allowing various groups to utilize the facility simultaneously or in separate time.
A multi-use sports hall with spectator gallery / Multipurpose Functionality and Expanded Program
The sports hall's flexible design and expanded program will allow it to serve a multitude of purposes. Beyond regular school sports activities, the facility will be equipped to host local and regional competitions, as well as potentially national championships. Features such as retractable telescopic stands, multiple changing rooms, dedicated coaches' and medical rooms, and appropriately sized evacuation exits enhance its versatility and cater to diverse user groups, including sports clubs, dance groups, and community organizations.
Built on-site, not endlessly “under construction” / Sustainable and Efficient Construction
A "break-time building" approach, utilizing prefabricated elements manufactured off-site, will ensure rapid and efficient construction, targeting completion within a single summer vacation to minimize disruption to the school schedule and surrounding community. This method also allows for higher quality control and a longer service life. The design integrates numerous sustainable features, including a roof-mounted photovoltaic power plant for on-site energy generation, maximizing natural light through integrated roof glazing and a translucent facade, and incorporating natural ventilation strategies for climate control.
A Play Space for Everyone: Open Sports Zone / Benefits for Students and Community
The new sports facility is envisioned as a valuable asset that will positively impact both students and the broader community.
For students, it will promote physical activity, improve overall health and well-being, facilitate the development of athletic skills and talents, foster teamwork and sportsmanship, and provide a healthy outlet for stress and energy.
For the community, it will offer a central hub for recreation, improve physical and mental health, strengthen social connections, and potentially boost the local economy. It will also offer positive activities for youth, contributing to a safer and more vibrant community.
